Coming soon to CJ Website Design is an SMS (mobile text message) service called CJ SMS allowing you to:

  • Send SMS from your PC to a mobile handset (PC to SMS)
  • Send SMS by sending an email to <phoneno> (Email to SMS)
  • Send SMS using our API system (Web to SMS)

PC to SMS software
PC to SMS application

Soon you will be able to download an application that you can run on your computer desktop. The application will allow you to send SMS text messages to mobile phones with ease.

The application will allow you to check your existing credit, set your account options and send your messages. We aim to develop this application using Macromedia Flash to allow for ease of use across all operating systems. Developing in flash will also allow you to embed the application into a web page

Email to SMS

In addition, you will be able to send an email to <phoneno> to send an SMS text message. The contents of the email will be sent to the mobile number. This method of sending SMS can be used with an email client (such as Microsoft Outlook) or by using a script to send mail - useful for web sites wanting to send text messages to visitors or customers.

Email to SMS in Outlook

In this example, Microsoft Outlook is used to send a text message to the UK phone number 0780000000. Using this method is very easy, just make sure your password is set in the subject line and the account email your sending from matches the account email you have registered with CJ SMS.

You can also use scripts to generate and send emails to our Email to SMS system. To do this, you would create a simple mail script (which we provide examples of), like so:

PHP Code:
$from = "[email protected]";
$to = "[email protected]";
$subject = "yourpassword";
$message = "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog";

if(mail($to, $subject, $message, "From: ".$from))
   print "Message sent to ".$to;

Web to SMS

Web to SMS is virtually the same as Email to SMS, except the mail server is removed from the equation. Web to SMS connects directly to CJ Website Design's SMS server Web developers can utilise the easy-to-use API system to create their own SMS applications.

The following example is written in PHP and uses the Send Message API:

$cjsms =& new CJsms();

$from = "[email protected]";
$to = "[email protected]";
$subject = "yourpassword";
$message = "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog";

$cjsms->sendMessage($to, $from, $subject, $message);
print $cjsms->response; // prints result of last delivery/action

Other API methods include "getCredit()" and "getMessageStatus()"

The API is still in development and is subject to changes and improvements.
